Kai's Place...

was the place to play today!
We played and read a lot; but, my favorite thing was playing...
Shoe Salesman!
These crocs are all the rage!
When Kai wasn't too sure about the red ones,
I tried another pair!
(It's hard to fit shoes when your customer won't sit still!)

Over and Under The Water

On Monday, we took a family day trip to Virginia Beach.
To get there, we crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
(It is one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world and is 17.6 miles long.)
Here I am flapping like a sea gull on the fishing pier right off from one of the tunnel entrances.
***
Next we went to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
We got up close with some rays, (They like to splash and wave!)
and some really big sea turtles!
I gave this one a 'high five'!
I also learned to navigate just like a dolphin,
and man an underwater sub.
(There were sharks in the waters around the sub!)
Dad and I got a little too close to one!
They had some trails around the aquarium that showed the way life was for the native Virginians.
This is called a Yi-Hakan.
This is were they slept in a 17th century fishing camp.
***
They also had an exhibit called 'Little Builders'.
Kai and I (and Daddy) had so much fun being construction workers!
I took the crane operation very seriously!
Kai worked with me driving the truck.
I had a great time in Virginia!

Offshore Powerboat Racing Extravaganza!

Sitting on Daddy's shoulders, I got a great view of the racing on Saturday.
The boats were fast!
and LOUD!!!!
(My favorite boat was called "Talkin' Trash" and it had Oscar the Grouch on it!
Well, it's time to go!
(The stallion is calling!)

Lollipop Lane

Yesterday was my very first day of pre-school.
(I go three days a week for three hours a day.)
Mom, Dad and Kai took me to Lollipop Lane.
(I give it a thumbs up!)
This is me and Miss Karen.
Bye! Bye! See ya later!
What a day I had!
Dad picked me up at school with my bike and I rode it all the way home.
Mom was waiting for me on the front steps when I pulled up.
So far, I would give my experience an 'A'!

Chillin' on the Choptank

Today we gathered again by the river to catch some crabs.
Me and Dad went down to pull in the crab pot.
(I put the bait in - frozen chicken.)
Even Kai got excited to see what we had caught!
There were three crabs in the trap.
Here's Dad showing off the famous Maryland Blue Crab.
After you cook them, they turn red.
Then comes the fun part...
cracking them open,
and eating them!
