On Monday, we took a family day trip to Virginia Beach.
To get there, we crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
(It is one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world and is 17.6 miles long.)
Here I am flapping like a sea gull on the fishing pier right off from one of the tunnel entrances.
Next we went to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.

We got up close with some rays, (They like to splash and wave!)
and some really big sea turtles!
I gave this one a 'high five'!
I also learned to navigate just like a dolphin,
and man an underwater sub.
(There were sharks in the waters around the sub!)
Dad and I got a little too close to one!
They had some trails around the aquarium that showed the way life was for the native Virginians.
This is called a Yi-Hakan.
This is were they slept in a 17th century fishing camp.

They also had an exhibit called 'Little Builders'.
Kai and I (and Daddy) had so much fun being construction workers!
I took the crane operation very seriously!
Kai worked with me driving the truck.
I had a great time in Virginia!
