We Caught Crabs!

We tossed a crab 'pot' (aka trap) out into the Choptank river.

As you can see, we caught a couple of unsuspecting guests for dinner!

They might not look it now, but they sure were tasty. (I really like to eat crab.)

Come and visit me, and I will let you throw out the next pot!

Ahoy Thar!

We went to my friend Amber's house to help her celebrate her birthday.

(I met her at swimming lessons. She just turned four!)

We played outside, swam in her pool, and jumped in the inflatable bouncy thing.

My favorite thing was playing pirates!

Kai's favorite thing was eating!

A Visit From 'W'

Last weekend Grandma W came to visit me!

(Well, I guess she came to see Kai, Mom and Dad, too.)

She helped us to celebrate Kai's first birthday.

I took her on a skipjack ride for a special 'treat'.

We all rode on the Rebecca Ruark, an 1890's skipjack which is a National Historic Landmark.

This is Captain Wade.

He taught us a little about crabs, the Chesapeake Bay, and politics of being a waterman.

Honestly, Grandma and I were only pretending to listen.

(It was HOT and he talked A LOT!!!)

I think that we enjoyed our time laughing, eating fruit and just hanging out the most.
