Visitors!

Grandma and Grandpa Aasen came to visit us at Lodgecliffe!
We helped Grandpa celebrate his birthday.
Me and grandma made him this card.
(Notice that I have learned to write my name!)
After a dinner of Maryland Blue Crabs, we helped him eat his cake of course!
While they were here we went to the Schooner Rendezvous, right here in Cambridge.

Grandpa and Dad rode on a real clipper ship!
We also saw a historic recreation of the Amistad.
Look at the size of the anchor on board the Virginia!
ARRGGHHH!!!
Seeing all of these ships put me and Grandpa into a pirate mood.
"Scurvy Dog!!"
Grandma got into the action showing how silly pirates can be!
We cleared the ships of rats!
(Don't worry - their gummy!)
We also took a day trip to Washington D.C.
(Grandma had always wanted to meet Mr. Lincoln.)
It was drizzly and cold, but we still had fun!
(Well, there was this one little thing.
Ask Grandma and Pa about our traffic jam!)
It was so good to see my Grand Aasens!
(I love you and miss you already and can't wait to see you again!)

Artiste

I have been working hard on my skills of artistic expression.

This is a cat (from the musical CATS).

I have begun to explore my use of color and line.
What do you think?

I have also been dabbling in a little bit of songwriting.
Check it out!

Pumpkin Time!

Yesterday, we visited Emily's Produce to pick out some pumpkins.
They have a fun play area there and it has a real castle.
(We crossed the drawbridge!)
Not a lot of castles have a fire pole inside!
I also raced Mom on the pedal cars.
We had a bit of a pile up!
Then I took a turn on the tractor track.
I also saw this nice grasshopper giving his friend a piggy back ride.
Ultimately, I picked out my very own pumpkin.
I will post pictures once it is transformed into a jack-o-lantern.
