A Getaway - Maxon Style!

We spent a couple of days at a 'villa' in Springdale.
There were lots of great things there.
These were a few of my favorite things.
This is me at the baby grand. Piano Man?
This little cushion was the best to bounce on and this furry blanket was the cuddliest.
I loved this big tub! It was like a swimming pool!
It was good to get away from the Inn for a couple of days.
Everybody loves a little mini-vacation!

A Capital Time!

Yesterday, we took a trip to Capital Reef National Park. It is about two hours from us in Torrey, UT. We stopped near the Grand Wash and took this photo. There was an old uranium mine here. The first claim was made in 1904. (Who needed uranium in 1904?) In the 1920's people used the uranium from the mine as a cure for rheumatism and other ailments. They crushed it up into their drinking water! They also wore it in packets tied to their aching arthritic joints!

Now the tunnels are all blocked off because they are unstable (and probably radioactive! See the sign behind us?). It is actually a preserved habitat for bats. We wouldn't have been surprised to hear reports of a lot of two headed ones in the area!

This is the view from a point called 'The Goosenecks' and some petroglyphs carved into the stone walls of the canyon.

This is an interesting thing that we saw on our way home. It looked a lot like a person laying on the side of the road. We think that it was a memorial of some kind.

The Show Must Go On!

Mom and Dad and I had lots of fun putting on our play -
"Merlin and the Magic Parrot"
(We made it up as we went along - improv style!)
There wasn't really a plot, but
there were lots of characters, so we needed lots of fingers!

The parrot was the bad guy, so I had to chew on him.

"All Done!"

Birthday Adventure - Part 1

I have returned from my great voyage to the Midwest!
I had so much fun visiting and playing with my family and friends!
We drove to Las Vegas first, because we had an early flight the next day.

Here I am at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. American Idol anyone?
(If you want to vote for me dial Idol 001!)

If you've never seen wax people before, you should know that they are kind of creepy!
I had a chat with the 'Governator' and realized that I may be a ladies man, like Hef!

I pretended to be one of the first people to walk on the moon, and a country singer too!
(Max McGraw? Nah!)

The next day we flew to Minneapolis.

I was lucky enough to get the one extra seat on the plane!
I had a great time and didn't cry at all!

Birthday Adventure - Part 2

When we first arrived in Minneapolis, we met our good friends the Whitesides at Grandma W's house for dinner.

Here I am with my friend Zachary. We needed to give each other a big hug when we saw each other!
After a good night's sleep, we drove to Chippewa Falls to pick up all of my family for a fantastic Wisconsin Dells getaway. We piled into a couple of vans and drove to the Wilderness resort. We all stayed in a big condo for a couple of nights.

This is me and my cousins playing in Kyle's Star Wars Jetfighter bed. (He must have let me 'drive' because it was my birthday!)

Being an Aquarius, you can imagine that I had a great time at the waterpark!
For a souvenier, we had our old time photo taken.

(photo coming soon!)

And, of course, what's a birthday without cake?
I had my very own little cake that I got to make a big mess with!
Grandma and Grandpa Aasen bought me this tricycle and wagon.
(I think that maybe Dad thought that it was his birthday!)

Birthday Adventure - Part 3

After our Wisconsin Dells adventure, we returned to Minneapolis.
Grandma W. took us to Underwater Adventures at the Mall of America.

We watched all sorts of fish, turtles and sea creatures swimming all around us!

I even got to pet stingrays and sharks!

A Great White tried to attack me while I was inside this shark cage.
When I showed him my teeth, he swam away fast!
I had such a good time! (Is it my Aquarius personality emerging?)
Well, along with my first birthday came my one year check-up.
I had to have all of my vaccinations and, as if three pokes wasn't enough, they had to take my blood to do all kinds of tests.
This nice lady was really good though, and I didn't cry for long.
The good news is that we discovered more about my allergies. I don't have any problems with wheat, soy or eggs; but, I still have a cow milk protein allergy.
(Soy products here I come!)
I was sad to leave all of my family and friends to head back to Utah, but...
you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...
