So break out the fiddle and rosen up the bow.......We're going to have a hoe-down!!! Yeehaw!!! Swing your pardner 'round and 'round, make 'um get sick, and fall to the ground!!! Yeehaw!!!!

Well- thanks for coming to my hoe-down! I hope you enjoyed yourself! Who knows what will happen next year. Anyway, have a safe Halloween and.....

Who do the hoo-doo?

Saturday, I had a great day with my Dad!
We spent all day together adventuring!
We went for a long (7 mile) hike into Bryce Canyon.
I had a great time looking at the hoo-doos, slot canyons, and natural bridges.
(If you can come and visit, we will show you all sorts of neat geological formations!)
Hiking is sure tiring!

Here we are, training for our next big adventure!

I sure do love my Dad!

Ring a round a ... Max?

My breakout has gotten worse! Mom and Dad think that I have ringworm. I know... it sounds scary, but it has nothing to do with worms. It is just a skin fungus (like athlete's foot). Every night I get cream put on all of my spots, so it should clear up in a couple of weeks. We think that I picked it up from my new friends Smokey and Pete. (They are the Inn's cat and dog.) Mom says that I can't ride Pete like a pony anymore - which is sad, because he was part of my Halloween costume!

Smokey and Pete

Don't worry folks, my spots haven't slowed me down a bit! And I am still friends with Smokey and Pete.

Breakout!

Oh my goodness!

Monday morning I broke out in spots!
Mom and Dad fed me blackberries, and we thought that is what did it. But, we were wrong. When I went to see the doctor, he said that it wasn't an allergic reaction. He said it was 'pityriosis roscea'. Basically, I have spots for no known reason, and with no known cure. He said I could have them for 10 weeks.
I sure hope that isn't true. I don't want to be a leopard for Halloween -
I already have my costume!
I am getting more and more excited Halloween. There is a carnival at the school here and we might get to go. It would be nice to meet more people.

Here I am in my newest vehicle. I can really get my Tot Rider rolling! I love to chase mom and dad around the kitchen at the Inn. (Only when there are no guests here of course!) It is important to were your shoes when I'm rolling around.

Look out toes, here I come!

Breakthrough!

Literally!
My seventh tooth broke through yesterday, and boy do I feel better!
(It was my third bottom tooth.)
I still am waiting for my eye teeth to make their appearance. They are still really hurting, especially when mom or dad wipe my nose or mouth!
I also have been working on standing without assistance. I can manage a few seconds. I can also hold onto the sofa and take a few steps. My goal is to be running by ten months.
Mom keeps threatening that she is going to start pushing me down soon,
but I know that she is really proud of me.

This is me with some hoo-doos behind me. I promise to take you hiking here if you come and visit! It is only 5 miles from my front door!

K2, Here I Come!

Like a flash, I'm off! I race towards the mountain. My little hands and knees burn up the carpet. I reach the base of my own personal Everest. As I look up, I am undaunted by the perilous feat before me. I begin my ascent. The climb proves unexpectidly easy, even at this altitude. As I reach the summit my heart swells with pride.
I am just over 240 days old and I have climbed my first set of stairs unassisted.

Car Accident!

Well folks, I have sustained my first official injury.
It was a car accident. (Don't worry, I didn't even have to file an insurance claim!)
Here's how it happened...
I was happily playing with my red wooden car when I lost my balance. As I sat down (hard) I forgot to let go of the car. A corner of it caught me just below my right eye.
Need I say 'Ouch!'?
That's all I have for now, so I will leave you with some advice...
Drive safely!

Everyday Adventures!

I am settling into our new place. There are lots of things that are different here.
There are new everyday adventures all over the place!
For example, I have a new favorite passtime... swinging!
I have my very own swing right in my yard.
(I make sure that mom and dad let me spend some time here every day.)

I also love to take my baths in the jacuzzi tub. The bubbles sure are swell!

Dad and I also can go on ATV rides anytime we want! Mom says we have to go real slow and stay on the road, but I know that my off-roading days aren't too far away!

Attack of the boogers!

These are my first boogers!
I have been living in Tropic, Utah for just over a week.
I think that I have finally adjusted to the altitude and to the dry air.
(Thanks Dad for the humidifier!)
Mom and Dad take me exploring whenever I feel up to it.
I have been having a tough time getting over my cold AND my reflux has been acting up AND I think I am getting four teeth (including my eye teeth)!
Needless to say that we have had a few sleepless nights!
No one told me that it was so hard to be eight months old!
I am working on getting some new pictures posted too so that you can see my new environs!

We're Here!

I'm sorry that it took me so long to update you, but I have been having a rough couple of days.
I am currently fighting my first cold, my seventh tooth and a five day road trip on very little sleep. But the good news is... we arrived in Tropic on Wednesday!
Needless to say, my hippo just didn't have what it took to get this far. (In fact, she never made it out of the Stone Arch Lofts parking lot. It's a good thing that Dad thought to rent a U-Haul!)
It has been a lot of work trying to settle in. I just didn't realize that I had so much stuff until the time came to pack and unpack it!
Everyone here has been so friendly and nice to me and mom and dad!
We are going to fit in just fine!
I will update you more soon, but right now... I need a nap!

The Great American Road Trip!

What an amazing journey we have had so far!

We drove through Iowa and Nebraska. (The corn was really interesting!)

We ran into a snow storm in Wyoming.

Now we are finally in Utah!

We will be arriving in Bryce Canyon tomorrow and we are all really excited!

As you can see, I am ready to be a cowboy!
